Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework
The standards that school and childcare providers must meet for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5.
We follow the Department for Education’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework, which sets the standards that all early years providers must meet for the learning, development and care of children from birth to five.
Every child deserves the very best start in life. At Trent, we are guided by our vision, “Inspired by Christ we serve one another in love,” which informs everything we do. This vision fosters a safe, joyful and caring environment where children learn to treat others with kindness and respect and flourish with confidence, resilience and generosity of spirit.
We believe that young children learn most naturally through play, hands-on discovery and rich language experiences, supported by adult modelling, peer observation and guided learning. At Trent, this happens through storytelling, conversation, creative exploration and practical activities, helping children to build vocabulary,
independence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
We also provide carefully designed challenges that inspire children to think deeply, take risks and persevere, enabling them to grow in confidence as capable and resourceful learners.
